Well, this weekend, I officially became Heather Caram, M.Ed. I really can't put into words how exciting this is. I'm finally getting to do what I love, with the support and love from my family and friends...who are AMAZING.
I got to see my mom, who I hadn't seen since the wedding. We had a great time together and I realized that as I get older, the more I understand her, all she went through for me and my sister, and just how truly lucky I am to have the most fabulous mother in the world.
I did manage to fall during the big ceremony on Friday night...of course. It never fails. My ankle is a little blue but i think my ego was more bruised than anything else.
We also talked about the importance of health while she was here. She's basically gone vegetarian and with my UCD, I have to really start taking better care of myself too. She says I should stick to 1400 calories a day. I've seen what the steroids have done to my upper body. I look like the stay-puff marshmallow man. It's pretty bad. So I HAVE to lose this weight. I couldn't most of my pictures from graduation, but I'll post one anyway....
I also was fortunate enough to have my husband, dad, mother-in-law, brooke, megan, and kerrie come to my hooding ceremony on Saturday. It was nice to have a little cheering section. Like I've said before, I'm blessed with amazing family and friends.
Now, I'm gearing for my birthday week!! I think I'll celebrate on my birthday by heading to the Norman Farmer's Market. Gotta get those fresh fruits and veggies.... ;)

Getting my Zen on...
So, I went and got my hair done yesterday by Aura at Studio Zen on Campus Corner. We took some art classes together as undergrads nearly 10 years ago. Yikes! Anywho, she did an amazing job and I highly recommend her. When I got back to work, I added her as my friend on Facebook and looked at her blog and I must say that I was completely inspired by her.
She has this way of looking at life that we really should all have. Loving everything you have in the moment. I am so truly blessed to have some of the most amazing people in my life and I want to be around for a long time to enjoy them. With this recent diagnosis of UCD, I've had to reevaluate a few things. I have to start taking better care of myself. I decided last night to try some yoga when I got home. I have to say that I felt completely refreshed and rejuvenated. As most of you know, I'm REALLY not into working out, but I really enjoyed the quiet time I had last night. I have to work on my stress levels as well as get some of this steroid weight off (ASAP). I just felt so calm when I was finished. It was wonderful. Here are some of the beginner poses I did last night...

I've also decided that I really have to start eating better. Sure, I'll still have my favorites (pizza, burgers, and fajitas). But I have to make an effort to throw in more salads, veggies, and fruits. Surprisingly, I've been doing better with that as well. I've discovered a new love for zucchini, squash, and mushrooms...which is really saying something for me.
And one more thing...I want to start taking pictures again. I loved photography in high school. It's such an awesome outlet. So I'm going to start saving up for a really nice camera. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

First Post...What What!
Well, this is the first official post! I decided to start this because I love reading all my friends blogs. While Dustin and I don't have kiddos yet to keep our blog entertaining, I'm sure I can find stuff to blog about until then ;)
So I'll be thinking...and if you have any suggestions, let me know!
And I'll throw in a picture of our furry children. We're so proud!
